Theme of the Year: BRING IT
As I look toward this year, as a wife, a mother, as a friend, as a sister, a daughter, as an auntie, there are days when I really feel the weight. The weight of all these roles I play in different people’s lives, the fun that is, the responsibility that is, and if I think about it too much I can get overwhelmed.
“Bring it on”. When I hear thee words in my head, I honestly hear them in Bri’s voice! Bring on the world and this crazy life, bring on the messes, bring on the pivoting and creativity of motherhood because we never know what’s gonna hit us. Bring on the hard conversations about life that we are going to have with our kids as they grow up and start to navigate this world. We as their mothers are the protectors and gate keepers of our homes, and sometimes we just have to buckle down and say “bring it on” to whatever life throws at us. And we as mothers. are strong enough and sometimes get to do that for our families.
“Bring it all” When it comes to HOME, my hope is that you “bring it all” with you. Bring yourself, bring you mess, bring your problems to troubleshoot with another mama, bring your successes to celebrate with us. If we “bring it all”, the honesty, vulnerability, the support that can be come from the relationships that we build in this group are unimaginable. Be honest and be brave, share it with someone. Off load the weight and feel the freedom that can come from finding our couple people that we can truly be ourselves with and just “bring it up”.
“Bring it together”, HOME is here to bring US together, to connect the pieces, connect us with friends we didn’t know we needed, connect the expertise and wisdom from other moms who are a step ahead or right in the same crazy as we are. To bring us together with other professionals from the community with information and wisdom we can glean, learn from, and apply to our motherhood walks. The heart of HOME is to provide a space to “enjoy the support and encouragement of other moms as together we embrace this joyous, yet exhausting life stage.” And HOME is here to bring it all together.
As we stand at the starting line of this year, I encourage you to “bring it” with us here at HOME. I hope that this place is a weekly encouragement for you that you can do it, whatever “it” it. You are enough, you are the best mama for the job of parenting and raising your kiddos, and you have us to do it with. Find your people and lean into this thing head on and full blown with the support and safety net of this amazing community of women.
